Program volunteer descriptions
Reserved Administration, youth programs (4 day credit) Reserved Program coordinators BR/ JR , Challenge, Arrows, Biathlon (4 day credit) returning parent only. Parent Assistant Coach (4 day credit) -Duties: Assist the coach in supervising activities during the course, accompany children on skis and help them develop their technique. - Must arrive 15 minutes before the start of the lesson to discuss the day's lesson plan with the coach; - Must attend all lessons OR be responsible for finding a substitute; - Please note that you will not be assigned to your child's group. Coordinator Orienteering (1 day credit) -event on 6th lesson (February 10th) -Coordinating the tasks and the 5-6 volunteers for the event -Duties: Create new markers, placing markers on trail, timing, keeping score and announcing the results Coordinator Olympics/World Championship (1 day credit) -event on the 4th lesson (January 27th) -Coordinating the tasks and the 10-12 volunteers for the event -Duties: set up and run the various events (4-5 events to be scheduled with 2-3 volunteers per event) Junior program: Event helper (1 day credit) -Duties: help plan, set and run events following the direction of the event coordinator -Must be available for the Championship (March 2nd or 10, to be determined) and for one other event (Olympics January 27th or Orienteering February 10th) Junior program: Terrain Park maintenance ( 2 day credit) - Duties: Light the fire in Skip’s hut every other Saturday morning between 8 :30 and 9 :00; - Shovel the bumps and prepare the hill according to coaches instruction (with the help of coaches) - Install flags and other markers on the pond; - 2 people every Saturday; involvement required every second weekend from 8:30 to 10:00. Junior Program Buyer (1 day credit) -Duties: Buy material / food for various events according to the event coordinators instruction Junior program: Photo/ Videographer (1 day credit) -Duties: Take pictures and make videos of the lessons to publish on the website + promotional and information videos for members Biathlon Parent Volunteer at the shooting range
