VIKING SKI TOURS
Ski tours give an opportunity for group skiing, and let participants enjoy our Laurentian winter and socialize with other skiers. Viking offers three tour programs: Saturday tours, Sunday tours and Thursday tours.
Saturday tours: Saturday tours are scheduled for each week starting in early January and lasting through March. Tours take place on trails throughout the Laurentians (some track-set, some back-country) and are led by the day’s organizer/host. Participants bring their lunch and usually eat on the trail. A highlight for many is the après-ski social gathering at the end of the day.
Sunday tours: Sunday tours start at the clubhouse and take place on Viking trails and connecting trails. They are led by a member who's familiar with our trails and are a good way to get to know our extensive trail network. Participants bring their lunch to be eaten on the trail. Après-ski will be at the clubhouse. Details will appear in the preceding days on the “What’s new at Viking” page.
Thursday tours: Thursday tours are more “ad hoc,” depending on weather and conditions. The Thursday group is usually smaller than that of Saturday, and tours are more informal. Interested members are advised of plans by e-mail each week. We would like to attract more people to these mid-week tours, so will try to offer shorter/slower tours from the same location.
