Viking Snow-O 2025

Dear Vikings,

Please allow me to congratulate all of you on the undoubtful success of our February 14-16 Orienteering weekend.

On Friday, our trail groomers became real trail blazers and created the intricate trail network to be used for Orienteering.

On Saturday, 26 teams made their choices of finding as many controls as possible under one hour, demonstrating both speed and wit.

JR4 "Boys" beat them all with stunning 170 points; they were closely followed by Arrows 3 "ATTJ" with 160 points and Arrows 1 "CABYBARAS" also with 160 points. The competition was followed by a round of hot chocolate, which was made possible due to the ingenuity and "goodness of hearts" of our brave volunteers.

On Sunday, only the bravest showed up for the 2-hour long course, plus a real Viking Jan-Eric who minded the longhouse. Anne-Michèle Fortin and Alexandre Lapointe aka « Les pas perdus » got the first place, with our own « Brent & Dave » proudly taking the second. I am also most proud of our own Danielle Primeau and her 3 boys: André, Oscar and Edwin Grant who collected nine controls and made two shortcuts! Every finisher got a cupcake in a shape of a Viking stuck in the snow, and a choice of a shark tooth or a deer antler pendant, plus a Morse code bracelet that they had to decipher.

Have a look at some pictures, and keep your compass handy!

Anna and helpers.
